4th Grade Field Trip to Riley's Farm
The 4th grade field trip to Riley's Farm will be tomorrow, March 24th. The total price for our field trip was reduced thanks to our awesome PTA. The PTA paid for the busing on our field trip, which lowered the total cost for each student to just the $15.00 Riley's Farm admission cost.
If you are a prepaid parent, then you will be utilized as a chaperone that will have a group of approximately 5 students (or less). Parent chaperones will need to supply their own transportation due to the lack of space on the two buses. When you arrive to the classroom at 8:00 for attendance, I will give you the directions to Riley's Farm (if you want them). All chaperones needed to prepay the $15.00 admission price, which is what Riley's Farm charges, so it can't be lowered even if you drive and take your child with you (the PTA is paying for the busing). If you have prepaid and are planning to attend, then please have your child ride in your car with you as we can only use 2 buses for the field trip and they won't be able to hold all of our 4th graders (please go to the classroom first as I still need to take attendance). Due to the already overcrowded buses, no parent chaperones will be able ride in the bus (sorry). And, we must insist that parent chaperones NOT bring any other children. This is a 4th grade field trip, and we need you to focus on chaperoning our 4th grade students, not attending to younger siblings. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
We will board the buses at approx. 8:15AM, so please be on time to school at 8:00AM. We will return to school at about 2:30PM, just in time to catch the regular buses home. Your child will need to bring a sack lunch with a drink, unless you notified me that you wanted your child to receive a school sack lunch. If a sack lunch was ordered, then the cafeteria will deduct the cost of the lunch out of your child's lunch account at the same rate that you normally pay for a hot lunch.
Please dress your child in layers in case it warms up, but remember that it is in the mountains and may be cold. Your child will be dealing with water when panning for gold, and there are puddles and mud in places, so an extra shirt and socks may be needed. Be sure to send a sack lunch if you didn't order one in advance from the district. PLEASE BE TO SCHOOL ON TIME. We start boarding the buses at about 8:15AM.
There is a small general store at Riley's Farm, so students may bring money if a souvenir or candy is desired. If you allow your child to bring electronic devices for the bus ride, or cameras for the field trip, please know that your child brings them at their own risk, no one else will be responsible for them.
BTW, there really is no homework today, your child was actually telling you the truth.
Also, Lesson 25 and the Review #11-15 will be homework for both this week AND next week due to the field trip and the two school holidays.
