This year our school will be using the new Eureka Math. I'm not familiar with how the homework works yet, but I will notify you as soon as I see how it plays out. It may be that the only math homework will be the occasional seatwork that your child did not complete in class from the daily math lesson. From time to time there may be a math worksheet assigned that covers a concept that the students need more practice with. If your child scores very low several times on the classroom times tables tests (a 1 or a 2), then I will add math facts practice to their homework with either a daily math facts practice paper, or by having them do daily ReflexMath on the computer. I will try to update you of this by text or email. Students do XtraMath for math facts practice EVERY DAY in class, and ReflexMath is done once a week in the school computer lab practicing multiplication facts. XtraMath is not for homework due to a lack of tracking (it doesn't separate work in class from work done at home, as Reflex does). However, they can still do XtraMath at home simply to practice, it just doesn't count for homework. I will be sending home information letters with info on how you can hook them up at home with XtraMath, SpellingCity.com, and Reflex Math that includes their user names and passwords. Please be sure to keep these in a safe place so you can refer to the user names and passwords again in the future.
