_OUR 5TH GRADERS WON OUR SOFTBALL GAME!
It was such an exciting game, especially the last inning. We were behind 8 to 2. Jacob started off our rally by hitting a home run. After that, everyone had a hit, and the runs started coming in. Jordyn hit a grand slam that ended the game with our class as the winners! BTW, it was also Jordyn's birthday! I told her that she now has a fantastic Baldy Mesa memory that she will never forget! I'm so proud of my 5th graders! Not for winning (although I must say that I was thrilled), but mostly because of the fact that they never gave up and put in their best effort even when things looked very bleak. There's a life lesson for them here that they will remember and take to heart a lot better than just being told to never give up. :)
CALIFORNIA DAY (PIONEER DAY)
4th Grade California Day (Pioneer Day) will be Wednesday, May 16th. Please help your child find something to wear that looks western/pioneer. Nothing fancy, just blue jeans, western boots, western/pioneer hat, western shirt, western skirt for girls (if they choose), etc. These can be borrowed for the day, or picked up cheap at a Thrift Store. Don't make a big deal about it, just do what you can. For parents that would like to volunteer to help that day, we will have activities in several classrooms that will require several people to assist the students. It will start at 8:30AM and go until ABOUT 10:30AM. Thanks for your help!
